Laura Hite moved to Chesterfield in 2020 from Los Angeles, where she worked in Center Theatre Group’s development department for over six years. While at CTG she held positions of increasing responsibility in both fundraising and operations. Originally from New Mexico, she has a background in theatre, with a B.A. from Arizona State University and a master’s degree in arts & media management from Columbia College Chicago.
Since 2021, she has served as the advancement director at CodeVA, leading fundraising efforts for the statewide computer science education nonprofit. As someone who benefitted from public school education and attended a public university on a Pell Grant, Laura is committed to supporting public schools and after-school programs. She is thrilled to serve teachers and students in her community, and she is a proud parent of two Chesterfield County Public School students.
CEF conducted a nationwide search in partnership with consulting firm Warren Whitney, which reviewed eighty applications for this important role in our community. “Laura stood out as a dynamic leader and advocate for children who will carry forward CEF’s mission of equity, opportunity, and innovation through community awareness and collaboration,” stated CEF Board President Matt Clarke of Townebank.
"I am honored to join the Chesterfield Education Foundation and to advance such a vital mission," Laura remarked. "We are fortunate to have a visionary superintendent and incredibly committed staff and Board leadership at CEF. I am so excited to join them in uplifting the schools, teachers, and students of Chesterfield County."
Laura takes the helm at CEF on January 16, 2024.
