Scholarships

Student graduating from CCPS High Schools

Scholarships for Graduating Seniors are awarded annually to graduating students. These scholarships are funded through endowments and annual contributions by businesses and individuals in the community. 

The 2025-2026 Scholarship Applications will open on February 3, 2025, and close on April 4, 2025. If you have any questions, please contact our office at 804-639-8774.

Most school-specific scholarships are for students who are nominated internally by school educators. 

Scholarship Descriptions

  • Any CCPS Graduating Senior
    Countywide scholarship for any graduating high school senior for technical school tuition, skills trade training for HVAC repair, or any skilled trade or technical education.

  • Any CCPS Graduating: Students are nominated internally by school educators.

    The Dr. Merv Daugherty Scholarship should be given to graduating seniors with demonstrated character, integrity, and leadership. To nominate a student, please use the link in the scholarship name.

  • All CCPS Graduating Seniors
    The Thomas R. Fulghum Teaching Scholarship was established by Mr. Thomas R. Fulghum, a previous CCPS Superintendent. This scholarship is for graduating CCPS students pursuing an educator or teacher career.

  • The Jamie Accashian "Whatever It Takes" Scholarship

    Carver College & Career Academy-Students are nominated internally by school educators.

    The Jamie Accashian ‘Whatever it Takes’ scholarship was created in honor of Carver College and Career Academy’s first and founding principal, Jamie Accashian, in recognition of his nearly 40-year career. This scholarship is for a graduating senior of Carver College and Career Academy who is pursuing any type of post-secondary education.

  • Theresa Goad CTC School Counseling Scholarship

    CTC Courthouse and CTC Hull Street-Students are nominated internally by school educators.

    The Theresa Goad CTC School Counseling Scholarship was established in honor of Theresa Goad. This scholarship is for graduating seniors of Manchester High School who completed at least two years in one of the CTC programs and who exemplify the ideals of commitment, hard work, and a positive attitude.

  • Kyle P. Stoeckli Memorial Scholarship

    Cosby High School: Students are nominated internally by school educators.

    The Kyle P. Stoeckli Memorial Scholarship was established by the family and friends of Kyle Stoeckli, a 2010 Cosby High School graduate. Kyle graduated from Cosby after overcoming learning difficulties and receiving special education services. This scholarship is for graduating seniors of Cosby High School who exhibit diligence and determination, are supportive of other students, and have a similar experience or have overcome similar circumstances.

    Scholarship nominations are by recommendation of Cosby HS staff. This scholarship is intended to help students “to grow, to learn, to move forward" in the learning process by continuing on to college or other post-secondary education/training.

  • James River High School
    The Erin Kasemersky Memorial Scholarship was established by the family of Erin Kasemersky, a 2016 James River High School graduate. This scholarship is for graduating James River High School seniors who exhibit integrity, leadership, community involvement, and academic excellence.

  • James River High School
    The Nick Booth and Will Hammitt Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a James River High School senior. The student must have a clean driving record and a 3.0 or greater GPA

  • Kimberly Leedom Bliley Scholarship

    L.C. Bird High School-Students are nominated internally by school educators.

    The Kimberly Leedom Bliley Scholarship was established in 2024 by her parents, Bill and Barb Leedom. Kimberly was a special education teacher in Chesterfield County for 17 years. This scholarship is for a graduating SPED student at L.C. Bird High School for their continuing education.

  • Cary Nothnagel Theater Scholarship

    Manchester High School-Students are nominated internally by school educators.

    This scholarship is named in honor of Cary Nothnagel, who is a true Lancer at heart and has been a dedicated part of the Manchester family for many years, both as a teacher and the theater director. It is for a graduating senior who has participated in the theater program for all four years at Manchester - either as a student in a theater/theater production class or as a performer/crew member in the plays/musicals - and who was not the 'top' theater student but consistently added to the Manchester theater community of students through their hard work, commitment, and positive attitude. No GPA requirement.

  • Coach Krausse Student-Athlete Scholarship

    Manchester High School-Students are nominated internally by school educators.

    The Coach Krausse Student-Athlete Scholarship was established in honor of boys' volleyball coach Charlie Krausse. This scholarship is for graduating seniors of Manchester High School who played a sport all four years (it does not have to be volleyball) and consistently contributed to the team's betterment through hard work, commitment, and a positive attitude.

  • Manchester High School
    The Milton Simmons Memorial Scholarship was established by his wife, Eurgentine "Tina" Simmons. Milton was a very active role model at Manchester High School. Milton loved his extended Manchester family and supported students in various ways, The scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors at Manchester who have a heart of living through giving and desire to "Matter like Milton". Mrs. Simmons, who teaches at Manchester, is honored to establish this scholarship to continue the legacy of her late husband.

  • Pamela White MHS School Counseling Scholarship

    Manchester High School-Students are nominated internally by school educators.

    The Pamela White MHS School Counseling Scholarship was established in honor of Pamela White. This scholarship is for graduating seniors of Manchester High School who held a leadership position within the school for at least two years and who exemplified the Manchester spirit through their service and commitment to the student body and their positive attitude.

  • Robyn Kim Choir Scholarship

    Manchester High Schoo-Students are nominated internally by school educators.

    The Robyn Kim Choir Scholarship was established in honor of Robyn Kim. This scholarship is for graduating seniors of Manchester High School who participated in choir all four years and consistently added to the betterment of the choir through hard work, commitment, and positive attitude.

  • Midlothian High School-Students are nominated internally by school educators.

    This scholarship was established in 2005 by Al Park, Midlothian High School Class of 1995, and his father, Andrew Park, to honor exceptional students and the many talented, gifted, and generous faculty members who have impacted students at Midlothian High School. Student recipients must exhibit good character, integrity, and a commitment to community service. The selected student may then identify a teacher who has greatly influenced their educational experience at Midlothian.

  • Midlothian High School-Students are nominated internally by school educators.

    The Denise Geiszler Memorial Scholarship was created in loving memory of Lesley "Denise" Geiszler. It is for any Midlothian High School graduating senior who has participated in girls' or boys' swimming. To nominate a student, please use the link found in the scholarship name.

  • Matthew G. Gwaltney Memorial Scholarship

    Thomas Dale High School-Students are nominated internally by school educators.

    The Matthew G. Gwaltney Memorial Scholarship was established by the family of Matthew Gwaltney, a 2001 Thomas Dale Graduate. This scholarship is for graduating seniors of Thomas Dale High School pursuing a four-year college or university degree in engineering, science, math, or journalism.

  • Thomas Dale High School
    The Panchita Cline Scholarship will be awarded to a Thomas Dale High School senior. The student must attend a VA state school, either a 4- or 2-year institution.
